Juices, smoothies and lighter plates on Gili Meno
Cold-pressed juices at 50K, smoothies at 60K, and the lighter end of a menu that is otherwise cooked over fire. Everything on the west beach of Gili Meno.
Not every visit needs picanha. Some days the right lunch is a juice, a salad and a long sit in the shade, and the menu is built for that too.
Juices, 50K
Seven of them, cold pressed. Green Goddess is green apple, green pear, cucumber, celery and cinnamon. Beet Bay is green apple, beetroot, carrot and ginger. Gili Elixir is the odd one: celery, bok choy, pineapple, lemon and coconut water. Meno Fizz, named for the island, is ginger, lemon, mint and honey topped with soda, and Citrus Zen does something similar with lemongrass. Passion Paradise and Island Glow are the sweet ones, built on mango.
Smoothies, 60K
Seven again, blended to order. Sunrise Berry, Blue Bae, Coco Breeze, Avocado Drift, Bee Kind and Berry Blue are fruit with almond, coconut or oat milk, or yoghurt, and honey here and there. Protein Nectar is the odd one out: banana, egg white, mung beans, honey and fresh milk.
Plain fresh juice is also on: orange or apple at 35K, and watermelon, pineapple, banana or mango at 60K.
Something to eat with it
The tropical quinoa salad is the obvious partner: mango, charred pineapple, avocado, corn, cherry tomato and cucumber with an orange and lemon dressing, 95K and vegan. The rice and beans bowl with braised jackfruit is 85K and also vegan. From the ocean side, tuna tostadas with yellowfin and seaweed salad on a corn cracker, 95K. For something sweet that is not churros, the tres leches chia pudding with local fruit and coconut dulce de leche is 75K.
And coffee
Espresso is 30K, a piccolo 40K, and a flat white, cappuccino, latte or long black 45K. Tea runs from English breakfast and chamomile at 35K to jasmine, hibiscus and Darjeeling at 60K.
We open at 11:00 every day, on the west beach. Prices are subject to 7% service and 10% government tax, and every plate from the kitchen is gluten free.
